Important Things to Know Before Applying for an APAAR Card

  • Ensure your details match: Your name in the UDISE+ (for school students) or your institution's records should exactly match the name on your Aadhaar card to avoid verification issues.

  • Keep your Aadhaar-linked mobile number active: An active mobile number linked to your Aadhaar is required to receive OTPs during the e-KYC verification process.

  • Keep your PEN or enrolment number ready: You may need your Personal Education Number (PEN) or your current school/college enrolment or roll number while registering.

  • Parental consent is mandatory for minors: Students below 18 years of age must obtain written consent from a parent or legal guardian before an APAAR ID Card can be created through their institution.

  • The application process differs by education level: School students are generally registered through their schools via the UDISE+ system, while college and university students may be able to register through the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) portal using their DigiLocker account.
